Yesterday was the offical end of summer. Most people tend to write a list of New Year's resolutions. I normally write Summer resolutions echoing the idea that summer is a short life. This time any plans were rejected due to hustle and bustle of the busy city life. Anyway, the best things happen when less expected. True story.
Pursuing the shortest way to hit the early fall spleen below the belt I am rewinding the tape of the last summer highlights:
In the summer of 2012 I....

...discovered new districts of Frankfurt, specifically Höchst. There is definitely more to it than its turkish -ghetto reputation would offer. Old narrow streets, small cosy cafes with German cuisine, romantic quay of Main, and medieval architechture. Besides, there are some fancy surprises such as Russian crossword-newspapers apparently being published since the Soviet times (would be a perfect read on a huge blue night train Moscow-Kiev), or a modest sign of Höchst's sex shop bearing a ridiculously anti-sexual image.
...wrote the term paper on Historiographic Metafiction...which is indeed as bad as it sounds (no, seriously- the coolest topic ever!) Clearly, I had to read EVERYWHERE!
...had the most wonderful class ever with American beer-tasting! See why I study in Germany?
...Found a strawberry star! I bet it brings luck)
...Supported Ukraine in Euro 2012 and was proud that this year it was a host country. They say we got the best references! Enjoyed having Ukrainian symbolics everywhere- from the Uni cantina in Mainz to the bus station in Barcelona. Go Ukraine!
...Was at the wedding of my good friends. Didn't catch the bouquet (phew!...) but totally enjoyed the party, especially the road trip!
...Went to Florida and enjoyed the kind sun. Postponed trying surfing for the next time but met the cutest surfer in the world instead!

...Rediscovered my love to soviet symbolism. Have cut dad's old T-shirt with a legendary Juri Gagarin on it and now it fits perfectly! Plus pinned an olympicbear: back to the USSR!

...Was collecting weird stuff.
...Enjoyed Frankfrt views from my friend's roof appartment.
